What a heartfelt piece, Eric. People’s behavior is often a reflection of them—not you. My first thought was that they were probably having a private chat and wanted to keep it private. As I read your story I couldn’t help but wonder if those same girls would have gotten up and left if some young children wanted to get in (though hot tubs aren’t for young children in the first place!;) Regardless, being so sensitive and aware is a gift and I hope you continue to surround yourself with good people:)
