Many countries have won wars and displaced people. It’s awful but the US is a prime example of what it did to the Native Americans. So many Muslim countries are currently at war with either other Muslim countries or themselves. They kill each other and take over each other’s land. You can call it stealing land if you want.
Israel didn’t just take over Palestine. When the UN Resolution 181 called for a two-state solution in 1947 Israel agreed to take much less land in the hopes for peace, the Palestinian leadership refused. So Israel went on to defend itself. Keep in mind that Israel didn’t occupy anyone to back to their ancestral homeland. The United Nations were behind this.
The Palestinians want to keep waging a war on Israel—a country that is established and has provided more innovation, medical discoveries and technological advancement to the world than countries 100 times its size. It is unrealistic to expect Israel to just leave the Israel and go somewhere else. If Israel really wanted to destroy Palestine it could easily wipe it off the map. But it doesn’t want to. It wants peace. Peace with a country that has been devastated for years because of its awful terrorist run leadership—Hamas and the crooked PLO (not that the Israeli government at the moment isn’t deeply flawed). And it’s sad that that’s the only thing current fanatical Pro-Palestinian supporters push for is violence and chanting “From the River to the Sea”.
Accepting any one of the peace offers from Israel would have improved the quality of life for Palestinians. But I’m sure you can’t and don’t want to see that. And that—that is the saddest part.
