@AllisonWiltz @allyfromnola With all due respect, you don't get to redefine genocide. Here are some actual genocides that are still going on:

Darfur https://www.bbc.com/news/world-67020154

Ukraine https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/18/us/politics/ukraine-russia-war-casualties.html

Yemen https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/11/23/un-yemen-recovery-possible-in-one-generation-if-war-stops-now

Turkey https://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/SOD.CHAP5.HTM

You also don't get to define colonialism to a group of people who have ancestral lineage and a presence in Israel for thousands of years--with historical and archeological facts that prove so (not that we owe you proof or context as you can educate yourself on that). And in case you didn't know, In 1947 the UN adopted Resolution 181 that would divide the land into Jewish and Arab states. Because the Jews that survived the Holocaust had nowhere to go after the VERY REAL genocide of WWII where 6 million of their Jewish brothers and sisters were slaughtered. Israel didn't get to colonize anyone during that time, but the Jewish people have ALWAYS wanted to return to our homeland. With that being said, the Palestinians have also had a presence there and it is their land too! Most Israelis would love NOTHING MORE than to live in peace with them. However, since day 1 of of returning to Israel (again, thanks to the UN, not thanks to any conquering or ethnic cleansing) Israel was attacked. And why wouldn't Israel want to protect itself after millions of refugees (from non-white settler countries that include Arab and African nations!) also returned to their homeland? Were we supposed to just lay down and give up? What kind of nonsense does the progressive left push? People who have been persecuted have one goal--and that is to survive. And that right should also be granted to the Palestinians. But you aren't helping anyone when you discount the Jewish experience and just skip to the part where we're the bad guys because we have the audacity to want to survive in a world that hates us.
